Rotary Winter Wonderland’s New ‘Gingerbread House’ a Space for Musicians

New Program Provides Venue for Live Music

This year, Rotary Winter Wonderland is creating a new space dubbed the “Gingerbread House,” a venue for musical talents.

The twelfth-annual light display, which will run Nov 24-Dec. 31, will host live music Wednesday through Sunday nights from 6-8 p.m. The new program is called the “Gingerbread Jamz.”

“A few members of our steering committee put their brains together to come up with a catchy name for the program. Each year we look to add something unique and special,” said volunteer member Danielle Nystrom. “Central Wisconsin has a lot of great musical talent, so we thought this program would be the perfect addition for this year!”

The site of the Gingerbread House will be in the gazebo at the center of Wildwood Park, previously a warming house for cold winter nights. The look of the new space will be a surprise for guests as they walk around Winter Wonderland.

“We are looking for 1-3 people that would like to perform together or individually for each night,” she said. The music does not necessarily have to be Christmas-themed and can showcase a variety of styles.

A schedule will be posted to the Winter Wonderland website and Facebook pages once the acts are confirmed. Interested performers are encourage to contact them through the page or call Nystrom at 715-316-8009.
