Here’s a rundown of the weekend’s family fun around Marshfield.
Weekend Weather Report
Art Share
Thursday | 6:00 – 8:30 pm | Chestnut Center for the Arts
Gather | Create | Collaborate – A free social event for artists, crafters, and anyone who wants to be creative. No experience is necessary. Art Share is a gathering for adult working artists, crafters, and creative beginners. Participants can bring materials and tools from home to work on a project. Don’t have anything to work on? That’s ok! We’ll provide some basic supplies to begin your creative journey. Learn new techniques, explore new mediums, ask for critique/feedback, share supplies, knowledge, and just in general; network, collaborate and make friendships. Art Share is FREE for our creative community, but donations are appreciated.
Bees and Bugs Storytime
Friday | 10 am | Wildwood Park & Zoo
These stories with Miss Sara will be all the buzz in the park!
Art on the Patio
Friday | 4-8 pm | Electrocuted Wood
Watch some Art in Action: You can watch artists do what they do best, painting, drawing, etc. Each evening could be different. Shop with Local Artisans. Artisans will be bringing a small sampling of what they make and create. Some artists may offer custom services to have a piece either made onsite or to pick up later. Stay awhile and play some yard games or board games on any empty tabletop.
Hub City Concert Series – Marielle Kraft
Friday | 7 pm | Wenzel Family Plaza
When you hear Marielle Kraft’s music or experience her candid live shows, you feel as though you already know her. The indie pop singer/songwriter, now based in Nashville, displays craftsmanship beyond her years, following suit to artists like Shawn Mendes, Maisie Peters, and Taylor Swift. Self-taught, the Rhode Island native began playing guitar at 16 and soon writing songs that strike chords with listeners everywhere. Her gift for storytelling is evident through her use of salient detail, raw emotion, and poignant word choice to describe moments “exactly as they feel.”
Marshfield Area Kennel Club Dog Show
Saturday & Sunday | 6 am – 10 pm | Central Wisconsin Fair Grounds
The MAKC Annual All-Breed Dog Show is two days of fun and learning for the whole family! There will be over one hundred different breeds in attendance at the Marshfield Area Kennel Club Annual Dog Show!
Artisan Market & Discovery Education Station Fundraiser
Saturday | 10 am – 4 pm | Wenzel Family Plaza
Discovery Education Station is bringing local vendors, artists, farm-to-table farmers, and boutique businesses into Wenzel Family Plaza to provide a more intimate and specialized shopping experience. We will also have TONS of kids activities on-hand, the splash pad will be open and a fundraiser lunch for Discovery from 11am-1pm, or until the food runs out.
We encourage you to come on out and support our social event where shoppers can meet and interact with local craftsmen, artists, farmers and designers from their community…and kids can be kids! Share some time with the kiddos and Support Discovery Education Station or learn something new about the nonprofit organization. Meet our animals and learn about our programs, clubs and classes! There will be an open mic, so come share a song, story, poem or joke! This event is FREE to the community!
