Wine, Cheese, and Chocolate: Rotary Fundraiser Benefits Community

For a classy evening out, don’t miss the Marshfield Noon Rotary fundraiser Wine, Cheese, and Chocolate: Uncork the Spirit of Rotary on Thursday, April 25 from 6-9 p.m.

At the signature fundraiser, attendees can enjoy wine, beer, cheese, chocolate, and delicious hors d’oeuvres while socializing with old and new faces. Live and silent auctions, plus a 50/50 raffle are part of the night’s fun.

Festival Foods is a primary sponsor of the event and works with its vendors to choose a wine list to please a variety of tastes. “Vendors all show up at no charge. They look as a way to give back to the community and give back to people who shop here,” said Marty Chy, Noon Rotary board member and store director at Festival Foods.

Wines include reds, whites, sparkling, sweet, and dry. If wine isn’t your thing, don’t worry – there’ll be a few beers to taste test as well. Based on feedback, a few non-alcoholic wines are part of the lineup.

This is the second year for the event, held at RiverEdge Golf Course. “It went over really well. It was extremely popular,” noted Chy. There’s no shortage of food available.“It’s very comparable in food variety when you go to MACCI holiday dinner. It’s not a sit down meal, but I would not eat before you come!”

Cheese samples are all provided by Nasonville Dairy who suggest the best wine pairings. The event partners with local food providers for desserts and other tasty treats.

Proceeds from the event go right back into the community. Over the course of the year, Noon Rotary assists with various projects, such as partnering with the Wildwood Zoo on its Welcome Center and cougar exhibit project, set to open this year. Thanks to last year’s proceeds, Noon Rotary was able to double its scholarships to local schools and help community needs as they arise and get projects across the finish line.

Tickets can be purchased online for $55 at EventBrite at this link. They will also be available soon at MACCI at 700 S Central Ave.

“I believe they’re going to get full value out of their ticket prices. You’re buying a ticket for $55, but sampling so many wines and beers,” said Chy. “It’s a great evening out at a great venue.”
