Fight Breast Cancer with Area Businesses

Local Businesses Support Research and Treatment through Promotions

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed in her lifetime. It is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women, and there are over 3.3 million survivors just in the United States.

To recognize the occasion, several area businesses are donating part of their proceeds to charity. Assist with the cause by patronizing these local locations and events.

Nutz Deep II and Premier Printing have teamed up to produce breast cancer apparel. All proceeds are donated to Marshfield Clinic breast cancer research. Find T-Shirts, hoodys, sweatshirts, and fleece jackets in a variety of colors and styles, designed by Premier Printing’s graphic designers.

Nutz Deep II will also donate $1 for every “CBC” (Crush Breast Cancer) drink and pink nachos sold, benefiting breast cancer research and detection at Marshfield Clinic.

The Sports Den is raffling off a brand-new Trek fat bike for $25 a ticket, all proceeds befitting the Marshfield Clinic Health System Mobile Health Screening Unit. The Unit makes a mammography more accessible for women in Wisconsin, which is highly important as screening is essential to catch signs of breast cancer early.

The ticket drawing is October 14 at noon, which coincides with the Breast Cancer Awareness Ride/Run at 10 a.m. (registration 8:30), also benefiting research and detection at Marshfield Clinic. You do not need to be present to win.

Biggby Coffee is selling thermoses for $17.99. Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society, which operates the Hope Lodge in Marshfield. The Hope Lodge offers a place to stay free-of-charge for cancer patients and their caregivers who are receiving lifesaving treatment in the area, and provides support during this difficult time.

It’s important for women to get regular screenings, especially if there is a family history of breast cancer. Mammograms catch signs early, which makes treatment easier. Learn more about it here.
