Chestnut Center Seeks Spooky Art for Upcoming Exhibit

Arts Center To Celebrate All Hollow’s Eve with “A Vision of the Macabre.”

The Chestnut Center for the Arts is seeking entries of spooky art for “Tell Tale Arts: A Vision of the Macabre.” The juried exhibition is the first annual for the Center, and they welcome any 2D and 3D art (PG-13 appropriate) that celebrates the ghastly, creepy, and whimsical aspects of All Hallows Eve.

Artists of any age can submit up to five images of their artwork for consideration by September 25. For submission guidelines visit the Facebook event or ChestnutArts.org under the Events tab. Submission fee is $16.74.

Notification of acceptance will be received by September 29 via email. Selected artwork should be delivered to the main office by October 5 before 4 p.m. and will be displayed from October 9 until Halloween.

The Artist’s Reception will be held on Saturday, October 28 at 7 p.m., the same night as their annual adult Halloween costume party, “Bone Shakin’ Bash.” Artists receive two complimentary tickets. The award for Best of Show will be a solo exhibition at the Main Gallery during the 2018 season.

Tickets for the Bone Shakin’ Bash are $10 and the event runs from 7-11 p.m. Put together your best costume, and dance to music by the Pointless Brothers. There will be a cash bar and prizes for costumes.
