What is Momxplore? Mom + Explore.....Exploring the world through the "mom" lens. I'm a marshfield native, Momxploring the world trying to strike the balance between career and keeping two "littles" alive, happy, and growing.

Ever since my first “little” (that’s what I affectionately call my children) started to talk, I loved some of the “kidisms” that would fall out of their mouths.

One of my favorites was the time my son said that he was looking forward to our house getting “back to Norman.” Of course, after I had a good giggle I realized he meant he wanted everything to get back to normal.

Another time, during mealtime, my son was absolutely distraught when he knocked his milk glass over with his elbow.  His two-year old sister looked at the situation and him from her high chair, shrugged her shoulders, and very nonchalantly and matter-of-factly said, “it happens.”

I burst out laughing so hard I startled both kids and spilled a little milk myself.

I tend to share these bright spots in my day with the grandparents.  Grandma said to me once, “ you better write those down or you will forget.”

I thought to myself,  “I will never forget these beautiful, funny little nuggets.” Well you know, then another “little” popped in and lots of busy, mom stuff happened and I don’t remember all of those “kidisms.”

The other day I was poking around a local shop called My Oh My Boutique, 125 S. Central Ave, and found the perfect item to help me out! It’s a book called My Quotable Kid. It’s brilliant, you write the quote, the background and the age of your child.

Unfortunately I didn’t have my purse on me, but I hinted strongly to the hubby, that this would make a great Mother’s day gift! I can’t wait to start recording all these “kidisms” so I can pass them on to my children.

In the age of the Internet, it is sometimes fun to see what treasures you can find when you shop around at your local places!

“One of the reasons I opened my boutique was to be able to offer unique gifts. Customers are happy when they find the perfect gift especially when they are looking for a one-of-a-kind present,” said My Oh My owner Barb Mueller.
