Continuing Education Releases its Fall 2017 Catalogue
The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County Office of Continuing Education has released its Fall 2017 Catalog and is now accepting registrations for upcoming programs.
Continuing Education offers people of all ages the opportunity to learn a new skill, explore a new hobby, advance a career, or take a trip in a convenient and affordable way. The Fall catalog contains a wide selection of courses, including art, music, trips, gymnastics, youth programs and more.
Several new classes offered include: Everything Google; Disaster Prep; Close-up Photography; Lunch & Learn Series; Luther’s Revolution: A 500-year Legacy; Technology Addiction; Stress Reduction 101 and more!
Watercolor Painting: Landscapes & Still Life meets Wednesdays, September 27 – October 18, 6-8:30 p.m. Explore various brush techniques, color mixing and composition. Open to all ability levels. Registration fee of $65 includes all supplies.
Ballroom Dance meets Mondays, October 2 – 30. These popular classes are taught by experience dance instructors, the Goggins. There’s a class for every ability level and singles/doubles welcome.
Experience the Newsies musical at the Fireside Theatre in Fort Atkinson, WI. Register by Feb. 1. Cost of $125 includes transportation via coach bus, gourmet lunch, and performance.
Registrations are now being accepted for the 37th Annual New York Theatre Tour – April 21 – 26, 2018. Trip includes ground and air transportation to and from UW-Marshfield/Wood County, accommodations in a great Midtown Manhattan hotel with an expanded continental breakfast, luggage fees, four Broadway shows, two tours as well as ample tree time to schedule your own events.
Network and develop new skills with the Lunch & Learn Series, covering three important workplace topics: conflict resolution, leadership styles, and diversity. Register separately or for all three for $65. Dates are Dec. 6, Feb. 7, March 7 from 11-1.
Turn old desk drawers into mail holder or hanging shelves in Upcycling: Mail Holder or Hanging Shelf. This DIY class guides you through the process of creating the perfect creative piece for your home. Cost is $29 and includes drawer and supplies. Class is Nov. 9, 6-8:30 p.m.
