Spencerama Days Expands in Second Year

Spencerama Days Returns June 8, 9, 10

After a successful reboot last year, Spencerama Days festivities will return June 8, 9, and 10 for a jam-packed weekend full of family fun.

“After our first year, we feel the event went over very well,” said Deb Schafer, Deputy Clerk Treasurer, Village of Spencer. “It was realized how much the event had been missed and we are happy that the tradition could be revived.”

Some additions and changes to the event means this year’s Spencerama Days will have more to offer. Many new activities include a Miss Spencerama Queen contest, mini tractor pull on Friday evening, rib cook-off, chalkfest, petting zoo, coin find, strongman truck pull, hayrides, and human foosball tournaments, Cars in the Park show, and pedal pull. Back from the old Spencerrama days is the Spencer Fire Department Ring Toss.

The Bad Downs return for a Friday evening performance after the mini tractor pull. Music by the Smoke Wagon Band featuring Spencer alumni Pat Lekie will follow the noon parade on Sunday.

“I am truly excited about the line-up of events. Our community organizations have come together to provide a wide variety of activities for young and old to enjoy,” said Schafer. “We are also very grateful for the many sponsors of the events. Many non-profit organizations will benefit from the weekend.”

A breakfast will be served each morning and a fish fry on Friday. Draegen Schlayers and Moon Dogs perform Saturday. There are plenty of kid-friendly activities like bouncy houses, Tot Trot, face painting and crafts. Also watch for the 5K shuffle and climbing wall, not to mention delicious food from food vendors, ice cream, and Sunday pie. Sunday will include a motorcycle ride, Community Church with Praise Band, ARC Park baseball tournament, horseshoe tournament, and a return of the Trailblazer vintage camping group.

All about fostering a sense of community in Spencer, the jam-packed weekend is the perfect place to have fun with the family and get to know the neighborhood better.

“It is an opportunity for friends and family to gather, and people from other communities to share in the festivities,” said Schafer. “We encourage everyone to come and be a part of Spencerama Days.”
