Mother’s Day – Treat Mom to Dinner

What is Momxplore? Mom + Explore.....Exploring the world through the "mom" lens. I'm a marshfield native, Momxploring the world trying to strike the balance between career and keeping two "littles" alive, happy, and growing.

Mother's Day Dining Guide

I am a mom. A mom who is has to think about food a lot. I am lucky enough to have a wonderful hubby who does his share of cooking…but I still feel like I am constantly thinking about food and/or food prep.

Every week I have to figure out where to buy it to get the best price. When to get to the grocery store to buy it…hopefully without “littles” in tow, or I will end up with more food in my house than is truly necessary. (And that food will likely be in non-food colors and in non-food shapes like princesses and/or superheroes.)

Once the food is home it has to be lugged into the house and put away…oh wait now I have clean out the fridge so I have room for the new food.

Now it’s time to plan what I am going to make. (Oh wait, I should have done that before the store, but I digress.) And this, in my house is no easy task because I have to appease picky toddlers and adhere to allergen-free diets. Oh and it still needs to taste good?

Then I make the food. Then I sit at the table with toddlers that play with said food, complain about said food and/or eat food happily but smack loudly while eating it (Yuck!) And then it is all time to clean up the food and start planning for the next meal. I swear my life is just intervals between meal prep and meals.

So, needless to say, one of my favorite parts of Mother’s Day is when someone else says, “Hey hun, we will take care of the meal. Let’s do brunch!”

For one glorious part of one day I don’t have to think about the meal (well kind of because we still have to take stuff for the allergy laden “little”). And sometimes, I get a pretty corsage to wear to the wonderful meal!

If you are interested in treating a mom in your life to a nice meal on Mother’s Day, I have compiled a list of great local options.

Oh and don’t forget the pretty corsage! (Two local florists that would be great for this are Hefko Floral and Spring Green Floral)
