Mitten’s Home Appliance Sets Up ‘LEGO City’ in Store

Store Hopes to Collect 60 Sets for Toys for Toys

LEGOs are the most popular toy asked by area children. They’re versatile and limited in scope only by the ambition of the builder.

Those who love the toy will want to stop by Mitten’s Home Appliance, which is currently displaying a “LEGO City” inside the store. It features LEGO boats on a blue harbor, cars gliding along a wide road, and LEGO buildings for kids to check out.

“We set up Lego City in our finished basement in the wintertime with my kiddos, and they have fun with it,” said C.W. Mitten, owner. He wanted to get the ‘city’ put together in the store in time for the 1,000+ children expected to attend downtown trick-or-treating this Friday.

Additionally, Mitten’s will be collecting any size package of LEGOs for the Toys for Tots drive this November, with a goal of sixty sets.

“I thought it would be a great opportunity to help kids out during the holidays that are less fortunate,” said Mitten. Simply drop a set off at the store, located downtown, to donate.
