Downtown is the place to be for Halloween fun this weekend in Marshfield.
Main Street Marshfield is expanding its traditional downtown Halloween festivities beyond trick-or-treating to include crafts, a bonfire, and of course, shopping.
“We just wanted to take advantage of the entire weekend and make it a fun fall family activity, and shopping and dining weekend,” said Executive Director Kaelie Gomez, Main Street Marshfield.
The weekend kicks off with a fall bonfire and s’mores on Thursday, October 25 from 6-9 p.m. at Hardacre Park. Tracy Chipman will lead a fall story at 6 p.m. followed by live music performed by Lor Chang at 7 p.m. Bundle up and bring a lawn chair.
Downtown trick-or-treating attracts 1,000 kids each year to walk from business to business in their favorite costume. The event takes place Friday, October 26 from 4-5:30 p.m. with parking along 2nd Street and around the Wenzel Family Plaza.
Festivities will continue early Saturday for Halloweekend Pumpkin Yoga at the plaza from 8-9 a.m. Bring a mat and water, but pumpkins are provided.
Shop during the fall open houses at participating downtown businesses from 10-3 p.m. Some promotions are activated by mentioning Halloweekend, so visit MainStreetMarshfield.com for a list.
Return to the plaza from 1-3 p.m. for free pumpkin painting. One will be left at the plaza to be lit in from of downtown restaurants in the evenings, and the other can be taken home for decorating.
At Hardacre Park from 12-4 p.m., create a succulent pumpkin planter to serve as gifts or centerpieces. There is no RSVP necessary for the workshop and costs include pumpkins, moss, and succulents.
Immanuel Lutheran School will host Trunk ‘N Treat from 6:15-8 p.m. with affordable concessions. Prizes are awarded to the best decorated trunk.
