Free Popcorn and Fireworks at Christ Lutheran Church Tomorrow
For those seeking a different viewing environment for the Marshfield fireworks, Christ Lutheran Church offers a prime location for checking out the annual July 4th display. Enjoy free popcorn, freezie pops, water, and glow sticks starting at 8:30pm, courtesy of Christ Lutheran Board of Evangelism.
“We see it as a great way to reach out to our neighbors and community,” said Dana Speth, Christ Lutheran office manager. “People have been coming to watch them from the hill for years so the Board of Evangelism thought why not make it into something more.”
Parking is allowed in any church lot, and those wanting to sit in their vehicle to watch the display are encouraged to claim their spot early. Lawn chairs and blankets are ideal for those wanting to sit and watch.
“It’s quieter than at the fairgrounds. Kids can run around in the yard. You don’t have to deal with the traffic by the fairgrounds,” said Speth, adding that the playground on the grounds will be open, too.
No fireworks or alcohol are allowed on Church property, but frisbees and soccer balls to play with in the yard are welcome.
Christ Lutheran Church is located at 1208 W 14th Street (on the corner of 14th & Lincoln Avenue).
