Rotary Winter Wonderland Starts Nov. 23
Each year, Rotary Winter Wonderland donates thousands of food items to local pantries. The light show at Wildwood Park features more than one million lights and attracts visitors from far and wide.
To promote their efforts, Rotary volunteers participate in local holiday parades, including Main Street Marshfield’s Holiday Parade this Thursday.
“The parades provide an excellent opportunity to enhance the awareness of the event to the citizens of central Wisconsin. The parades are a very efficient and effective ways to promote attendance to the RWW display,” said Scott Larson, RWW Steering Committee member and Chair of Build & Design Committee.
Each year, the float is pulled by a Chevy or GMC pickup truck donated by local dealership, Wheelers Family Auto Group.
“It’s something my mom started. She believed in the Rotary Winter Wonderland program and the wonderful work they do for the community,” said Mary Jo Wheeler, co-owner. “We are continuing this tradition in her memory. She loved the lights, thought they were beautiful.”
“RWW’s relationship with Wheelers has been one of great appreciation,” said Larson. “Wheelers’ willingness to provide tow vehicles has provided continuity and consistency to the RWW parade operations by having reliable, attractive tow vehicles.”
Main Street Marshfield’s Holiday Parade is Thursday, November 15 at 6:00pm, starting at Second Street downtown.
Rotary Winter Wonderland opens Friday, November 23 and is open every night from 5:00-9:00pm, through December 31.

“Fill a Truck, Fill a Need” will take place this year in Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids, Abbotsford, and Medford, featuring a vehicle to be filled with non-perishable food item. Donated food goes to the local food bank.
