The Game of Thrones Guide to Marshfield

The King's Road

If you can’t get enough of all things Game of Thrones, here are a couple stops in Marshfield for your pilgrimage to Westeros:

Need to take a trip up the Kingsroad? Just a short drive west will leave you at the Hahm Trail at Marshfield School Forest. The 1.5 mile trail will wind through the forest and you can take the first steps in your trip north.

While maybe not full of Crannogmen and all other sorts of scary creatures capable of killing you, the McMillan Marsh does make a nice barrier between Marshfield and those in the northern reaches of Marathon between Stratford and Spencer. A nice hike through this area will make you think you are on the causeway heading north to visit the Starks.

While not nearly as large as the narrow sea, the ponds of Wildwood Park are as close as we get here. Take a walk along the west shore and imagine looking over the sea towards the wilds of Essos.

Want to have a feast in a great hall? The shelters at North Park and Powers Bluff Park both will fit the bill with stone and wood decor and large fire places. Roast some chicken and find some ale, and you have a feast fit for a king.

They may be in captivity, but Marshfield has their very own set of “direwolves” that can be visited at Wildwood park and zoo. With a little imagination, the zoo’s exhibit of timberwolves will transform into dire wolf puppies.
