Something Special From Wisconsin (TM) Supports Wisconsin Business

Support Wisconsin Business This Holiday Season

Those looking to support Wisconsin-owned business this holiday season should consider visiting the Something Special From Wisconsin online database. Since 1983, this program has featured businesses throughout the state. Any business can apply for approval to use the SSFW logo if at least 50 percent of the value of their product or service is attributable to Wisconsin ingredients, production, or processing activities.

Wisconsin’s Agricultural Ambassador, Alice in Dairyland, recently visited Marshfield Community Television to share more about this popular program.

“Something Special from WI is a great program because it encourages people to buy local, Uniquely Wisconsin goods,” said Ann O’Leary, this year’s Alice in Dairyland. “Consumers are 70% more likely to purchase a product if they know it is made here in the state and this program helps people easily identify Wisconsin made products.”

Program members benefit from having a “Wisconsin” brand identity, and consumers appreciate the opportunity to buy quality products from local providers.

“By purchasing gifts through the Something Special from Wisconsin program, their money is staying here in the state to support our Wisconsin farmers, communities and economy, said O’Leary.

Though available any time of the year, the holiday season is particularly popular for the program. Watch the video from Marshfield Community TV below or visit the SSFW website to learn more, and look for the little red sticker when shopping!
