Shop Local for Women’s Summer Fashion at Rae Baxter’s

Local Boutique Showcases Apparel (& more) for Women of All Ages

Summer is here and Rae Baxter’s Fashions in downtown Marshfield is ready with seasonal fashion for women of all ages.

A specialty boutique that has been offering a unique blend of trend-setting women’s fashions and must-have basics since 1950, Rae Baxter’s showcases an extensive selection of quality clothing for women in every stage of life.

Longtime owner Carol Knauf has an extensive background in the fashion industry and attends markets several times a year to bring a unique mix of contemporary, upscale clothing and jewelry back to the Marshfield store.

This summer, shoppers can find trendy items like chunky jewelry, bright dresses, and skirts with fun patterns. Whether dressy or casual, there’s apparel and accessories in-store for women in their 20’s and greater.

Last year, the local staple for women’s clothing underwent a complete makeover while staying true to its customer base, with new flooring and walls for a more contemporary look.

“It had been a long time coming,” said owner Carol Knauf. “What prompted it is the fact we’re bringing in younger lines to appeal to the 25-35 year-old.”

With 3-5,000 items of clothes per season in sizes 2 to 3X, there is no shortage of choice.

“We help them with whatever they have already, and we can add to it. That’s what we really like to do,” said Knauf. “We work with what their needs are.”

With an eye for fashion honed by decades of experience, Rae Baxter’s helps women pick out their best fit and will give honest suggestions.

“We’re finding that people like our honesty. That’s what we’re here for,” said Knauf. “I can sell anybody, but that’s not the point. I want them to look good so someone will say, ‘where did you buy that?’”

In addition to finding great fashion, shoppers at Rae Baxter’s are supporting a small, local business.

“Shopping local is so important because when you support a small business, you are supporting your community,” said Knauf.
