New Holiday Christmas Market Tradition at Mill Creek Gardens

Local Mill Creek Gardens to Host Christmas Market

We all know that the holidays can be hectic.

It can be tempting to just work on checking items off our list so we can be on to the next task. Get Christmas tree. Check. Bake cookies. Check.

But the holidays are not only a time for accomplishing our to-do list, but for making memories, especially if you have children in the mix.

It was with this in mind that Mill Creek Gardens is starting a new tradition this year, their first Christmas Market which starts on Small Business Saturday, November 26 and runs Fridays through Sundays until December 18. It will offer shopping holiday greenery and Christmas trees, items from local vendors, adult workshops and kids workshops for holiday crafts.

“The Christmas Market is a festive environment for friends and families to make a holiday memory – this might be by picking out your family Christmas tree, finding a unique handmade item from local vendor, or making a holiday craft at one of our workshops,” said Danielle Winer, Mill Creek Sales and Marketing Director.

Christmas markets themselves are steeped in tradition, especially to those with German heritage, which was the inspiration for the one at Mill Creek.

“This is the first year for our Christmas Market but it’s been a dream of ours for many years. Mill Creek Gardens’ owner, Erik Winer, was inspired by the German Christmas Markets while studying in Germany. The welcoming atmosphere where attendees enjoy local food and craft vendors was something he wanted to bring back to Wisconsin,” she said.

Winer is really looking forward to customers experiencing their vision.

“We are very excited – we want to bring value to our community – with this Christmas Market, we believe we are offering a fun opportunity for the whole family,” she said.

This event offers a little something for everyone. Holiday décor for mom and dad, kids craft series for the kiddos, even evening painting nights for girl’s night options.

For more information about the specific offerings throughout the Christmas Market, check out their website or Facebook page.

Winer hopes the event is able to bring a little old world, holiday fun to area families.

“Sometimes we all spend too much time looking at our screens – we hope our Christmas Market brings a little of Old World Christmas back where doing a simple craft with your hands can spark your creativity & make a memory,” she said.
