Marshfield Area Pet Shelter’s Popular Fundraising Breakfast Changes Location

Proceeds Benefit Day-to-Day Operations at Shelter

The Marshfield Area Pet Shelter will host its highly-successful breakfast fundraiser on February 25, this time in a new location.

“MAPS had six successful fundraising breakfasts (Paws & Pancakes) at the KC Hall; unfortunately, the KC Hall closed as of December 31, 2017,” said Ronald Matter, MAPS fundraising Chair. “MAPS is very excited to have our 7th Annual Fundraising Breakfast at the Holiday Inn due to their new Executive Chef, Matthew Smallwood, an experienced resort and banquet chef from Florida.”

With a sizable ballroom, this year’s event would be better equipped to hold the over 1,000 people that attended the breakfast last year. After breaking attendance records six years in a row, it’s likely that the turnout this year will be just as strong.

While MAPS doesn’t set a fundraising goal, last year the event raised $12,600. Funds raised go toward day-to-day operations at the shelter. “It is imperative the fundraising program is effective because the majority of its operating budget is supported by fundraising,” said Matter.

The breakfast will run from 8-11:30am at the Holiday Inn on Central Avenue. An all-you-can-eat buffet features scrambled eggs, ham, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, breakfast potatoes, applesauce, cinnamon rolls, orange juice, milk, & coffee. Tickets at the door are $8 for adults and $4.50 for children 4-11. The cost is free for under age four.

Additionally, plenty of raffle baskets and a 50/50 raffle will be part of the event, which is sponsored by Thrivent Financial, Catholic Financial Life, and Bushman Dairy.

Marshfield Area Pet Shelter is a 501(c)3 non-profit volunteer-based organization actively engaged in raising funds to build a humane shelter for the greater Marshfield area. MAPS is currently operating in a temporary home on West 29th Street in the former airport terminal building and at an Adoption Center within Marshfield Mall.
