The Marshfield Outdoor Learning Sanctuary is a three acre parcel of wetland was donated to the school district has been funded by many sources. We have received donations from the community, the school district of Marshfield, Rotary, The Alumni Fund at the Community Foundation, The Community Grants of the Community Foundation, Leadership Marshfield and others.
Initial grants from the Marshfield Alumni Fund at the Community Foundation paid to have the ponds excavated. The shelter was built by Marshfield High School Building Technology students. The structure will then be used by many disciplines here at the high school – science, agriculture, and art. This land will also be used by many of the extracurricular groups of the high school – FFA, The Green Team, Science Olympiad Team. It is located close to the Intergenerational Center and Madison school. It will be used by all ages, in our community. This project demonstrates how when a group of committed parents, students, teachers, and community member set their minds to making a project happen for our school district – it does!
The Marshfield Outdoor Learning Sanctuary is another addition to MACF’s long list of contributions to the community, which include Wildwood Station, Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library, Hackman Field, the Youth Baseball fields, Weber Park, Hamus Park, Hardacre Park, Braem Park Disk Golf, the Skate Park, Boson Tennis Complex, Tiny Tiger Intergenerational Center, the ACE Academy, Griese Park, and many, many more.
A tax exempt, non-profit organization, MACF uses public support to better connect those with a cause in mind to its completion while taking care of administrative tasks, and continues to establish permanent, named funds for public benefit.
