MAPS Pet of the Week: Sia

By Cassi Shook – Sia is a 4 year-old grey and white tabby at Marshfield Area Pet Shelter (MAPS)’s Adoption Center in the Marshfield Mall. This little cutie is mostly laid back but she has a playful aide as well if you catch her in the mood for it. Sia also likes to wander around and explore new areas. Her tail gets so fluffy with excitement when she’s wandering around the adoption center before it’s open. Sia also has some of the most adorable eyes. She’s so excited to meet new people and explore new things, that her pupils are almost always large with her emotions.

Once Sia gets used to a person, she loves getting scratched behind the ears and her paws will often go into a kneading movement which we call “making biscuits.” She also likes to cuddle by your lap as you pet her. Sia usually gets along well with other cats as she used to sharing her larger cage with a pair of cats, and they all got along really well. However, when it comes to new cats, it’s recommended that the introduction is slow and gradually built so that Sia gets used to the new cat. Overall, Sia would make a lovable addition to a family who is willing to take her.
