Ice Cream District of Marshfield

An Ice Cream District?

Most of us have finished a day at Hefko Pool or at Wildwood Park & Zoo with a tasty ice cream treat. In fact some of us do it every time!

But did you realize that you were in the middle of the “ice cream district” of Marshfield?

The south side of Marshfield is really the absolute best place to be if you are in the mood for ice cream. There are five establishments on that end of town that serve some version of ice cream and ice cream treats.

Some of them are older staples that have been around for a long time, like Melody Gardens, which has served ice cream since 1980. Others are newer to the scene like Hub City Ice Cream Company. However, they all offer their own “twist” on a summertime favorite.

If you are in the mood for a traditional, hand-scooped ice cream cone, there are a couple of options. You can head over to Melody Gardens or to Hub City Ice Cream Company.

However, if you are craving a soft-serve cone you have more options. You can visit Baltus Gas Station, Chips, Dairy Queen, or Melody Gardens. All offer soft-serve cones and concoctions. The Baltus station is a good option if you have a late-night ice cream craving that needs to be satisfied!

If you are up for a Blizzard®, you of course want to head over to Dairy Queen.

A couple of the locations would be a good place for a meal + ice cream dessert. Chips Hamburgers offers yummy burger and fries to go with a soft serve cone. Melody Gardens, on the other hand, has a wider variety of nostalgic, diner-type food. They offer everything from breakfast, lunch and dinner.

As you can see, there are many, many options to feed an ice cream craving on the south side of Marshfield. My advice? Don’t choose just one! Stop down a couple days during the week and sample offerings from everywhere!
