Hub City Ice Cream Closes for the Season with Customer Appreciation Night

October 11 Last Day of the 2017 Season

Don’t miss out on the last of the ice cream! Hub City Ice Cream Company closes for the season on October 11, but there are still flavors left.

Last year Hub City ran out of ice cream earlier than expected, said owner Sandy Freeman, but at the close of this season there is plenty left in stock. Customer Appreciation Night will begin at 6 p.m. on the final day with free single dishes and cones scooping out the last of the ice cream.

“We really want to pay back our customers for another great season,” said Freeman. “We couldn’t have done it without the community.”

Grab a scoop and stockpile for the winter by purchasing pints and quarts of your favorite flavors. “We want people to come in and get in as much as they can,” she said.

This season’s favorite flavor was This Just Got Serious, a salted caramel and cashew mix. Freeman said the Snap-O-Lantern, a pumpkin and gingerbread flavor, was also popular. Kids favorites were Zanzibar, Superman, and Birthday Cake. Success surrounded Lemon Poppy Seed, a new flavor that will be back again next year.

While Hub City is closing for the season, it will open the first two weekends in December with 100% of the proceeds going to the fundraising organizations. Barring a snowstorm, Freeman said the business will open up again April 1, 2018, for its sixth season. The first was in 2013.

“I can’t believe it’s been five years,” she said.
