Festival Foods Offers Friday Fish Fry, Fresh Flight Fish

For your Friday fish needs, Festival Foods is the place to stop and pick up a quick meal for the family, or choose some fresh seafood to make at home.

“In the deli we have our hot fish buffet on Fridays which can be paired with our delicious coleslaw,” said Matt Woller, Deli Leader. “We will also have fish for Ash Wednesday, hot or cold that day for our guest’s needs.”

Besides the hot buffet available by the deli, there’s a large variety of fish to choose from in the meat and seafood department — check the weekly ad for specials.

Through the Fresh Flight Fish program, Festival Foods is able to fly in a fresh selection of fish.

“There are many options to choose from and change with the fishing seasons and availabilities,” said Bob Richmond, meat department manager. “We usually carry at least three different types on any given day. Fish can be flown in from Hawaii, Alaska, Washington and Massachusetts, allowing for an increased variety.”

Besides fish, Festival Foods regularly offers shrimp, scallops, crab legs, lobster tails, as well as pre-breaded options, all sustainably sourced.

“Festival’s meat department is fully committed to 100% sustainability. We are members of the Monterey Bay Aquarium which helps us track the products we offer as to their sustainability,” said Richmond. “During different seasons, some items will lose their certification and we would stop carrying these items at that time.”
