Marshfield Area Galentine’s Day Ideas
Those that have seen any signs or promotions referring to Galentine’s Day this year might have wondered if someone forgot to use spell check.
However, it isn’t an error or misspelling of Valentine’s Day. It is its own “holiday.” Galentine’s Day is on February 13 every year with the sole purpose of celebrating close relationships with your best “gals.” The trend began with the main character Leslie on Parks & Recreations and has become the perfect reason to make a little time for “girl’s days.”
Local Indigo Bloom SkinSpa owner Jayme Kauth thinks it is an awesome trend, whether ladies are able to do it on Galentine’s or get together at other times.
“I have hosted many make-up parties with groups ranging from three people to 15 people can be a really fun thing to do with a couple of your girlfriends,” she said.
Girlfriends also get together at her spa for skin care clinics and facials.
Main Street Marshfield Executive Director Angie Eloranta said there are many places downtown that would be great for celebrating Galentine’s Day.
“There are so many wonderful downtown salons to choose from and I wish you all the luck when you try to decide which is your favorite. As a bonus, when you visit a salon in the downtown, you now have multiple places within walking distance to head to for lunch and shopping afterwards,” she said.
Eloranta herself loves a good girl’s day.
“My favorite thing to do on a girls day is pedicures and wine tastings! Both of which can be done in our lovely downtown,” she said.
