Fun Girl’s Weekend Out During Deer Hunting Season

Ok, so we live in Central Wisconsin. And around here, November means one thing to many of us, especially many men…hunting season.

But ladies, instead of feeling left out, why not make it into an opportunity: a girl’s getaway in our own little hamlet, Marshfield.

If you have girlfriends from out of town, and they need a place to stay you can check out our modern Hotel Marshfield. Click to Book Now

Once all your girls are gathered and ready to embark, you need to decide where to start.

Angie Eloranta, Executive Director of Main Street Marshfield hopes one of your first thoughts is downtown.

“It’s more than just shopping, it’s an experience! Go with friends or family and you can shop, get pampered, and enjoy great dining, “ she said.

I don’t know about you, but one of the first things I think of is: food! Nothing says a fun, fall lunch than pulling up to the quaint red check table cloths at The Kitchen Table, 118 E. 3rd St., and order a piping bowl of homemade daily special soup. (In the fall they often have some fun pumpkin or squash inspired recipes.)

And if you aren’t quite full, you might want to go grab a cupcake from 2 ½ Cups Cupcakery & Bakeshop, 126 S. Central Ave. I really like the red velvet option myself.

girls-shoppingAs you meander down Main Street, mid chat with your girlfriends, you can weave in and out of shops that offer great holiday items for you and your family. There are many shops for jewelry, fashion, décor and antiques.

What girlfriend weekend wouldn’t be complete without a little pampering? There are several salons and spas peppered across downtown to choose from.

Indigo Bloom skinSpa, in particular, is running a festive fall special. They are offering their pumpkin facial through fall, which is an hour long facial that includes a double cleanse, skin analysis, pumpkin enzyme exfoliator, hydration mask with facial, neck and shoulder massage and a warm cozy bed.

Owner Jayme Kauth thinks relaxation is especially vital this time of year.

“I think it’s incredibly important to take time for self-care all year round, but especially before the holidays! As we all know stress brings down our immune system & that opens the door for sickness. We are all a little bit more stressed and spread thin through the holiday season so taking time for yourself to create some space in your mind can help greatly,” she said.

Once you have some eating, shopping and pampering…what better way to cap off the day than a nice glass or bottle of wine from Market on Sixth, 113 W. 6th St.?

Whether you find a little time for good food, fun shopping or relaxation during this hunting season, all you need to do is grab a couple friends and step out your front door to find a memorable retreat this fall.
