1950’s Week Celebration

1950’s Week Celebration | Explore Marshfield – Dairy Queen

From August 3-6, take a trip into the past at Marshfield’s northside Dairy Queen location as they celebrate “Back to the 50’s Days.” For this limited time only, some of DQ’s favorite treats will be just 55 cents, including a small root beer float, small shake/malt, regular french friends, small cone, and a hot dog.

“It was originally the brainchild of former DQ manager Deann Melvin,” explained General Manager Laura Cooper of the 1950’s Week celebration. “We wanted to bring back something fun for the community that we could create memories with.”

Cooper added that highlights of the week will revolve around the year 1955 – the year the famous Dilly Bar was created. These tasty treats will also be just 55 cents.

Customers can also enjoy a classic car show on Thursday and Friday, August 4-5 from 5:00-8:00pm.

Fitting with the theme, staff will be dressed in 1950’s attire. “Get a picture with the girls in their poodle skirts, or the boys with their slicked back hair, and cuffed jeans and white t-shirts,” said Cooper. “It’s fun for everyone! And with the .55-cent specials, you can have an entire meal for $1.98.”

Cooper encourages everyone to stop by for a taste of sweet dairy treats and a healthy serving of nostalgia.

“I think many of us wish we could step back in time to when things were more simple, authentic, and friendlier,” said Cooper. “We want to try to recreate this for our customers. We are honored to be serving the Marshfield community.”

(Please note: back to the 50’s will be held only at DQ’s north store location.)
