Creating the Popular Nutz Deep II Menu
With arguably one of the most popular menus in Marshfield, we went on a behind-the-scenes look to discover what goes into creating the extensive and delicious Nutz Deep II menu…and the successful business overall.

According to owner Lisa Schutz, Nutz Deep II locally sources several menu items. All lettuce comes from a local grower, and the majority of their cheeses come from local Nasonville Dairy.
“We get the majority of our cheese from Nasonville Dairy with the most popular being our Mexican Cheese Curds which are hand-cut and lightly fried cheese curds,” she said.
Keeping It Fresh in More Ways Than One
Nutz normally refreshes their menu twice a year, with changes in the spring and fall.
“I look at what the market trends are, what guests request or suggest, and by going to national and local food shows,” said Schutz.
They also offer daily features and nightly specials, and if someone has special dietary needs, Nutz Deep is happy to modify the menu item for them.
“We cater to whatever our guests needs are. We are a gluten-friendly kitchen that offers gluten free pizza crusts, wraps and buns,” she said, adding that with the popularity of plant-based diets they are working alongside culinary experts to be able to offer even more wholesome options.
Burgers at the Forefront
Known for having the best burger in town, Schutz said the most popular burger is the classic Bacon Cheese Burger and the Hub City Burger.
“I think these items are popular because our burgers are different from any other restaurant in Marshfield. We use different products, seasons, and spices to bring out the flavor of our fresh hand-pattied meat,” said Schutz. “Our creativity is endless when it comes to our burgers.”

Nutz has been voted Best Burger in Marshfield for 12 years, and in 2019 were voted Best Fish Fry. Previously, they also won Best Cheese Curds from 2013-2016.
