The Hannah Center Cow-Pie Bingo Returns to Dairyfest

2017 Cow Pie Bingo at the Hannah Center.

Participants Need Not be Present to Win

Those who stop by the Hannah Center during Dairyfest will get to witness a special sight that just wouldn’t happen anywhere else.

The 5th Annual Cow-Pie Bingo returns June 2 following the Dairyfest Parade as a fundraiser for the women’s crisis shelter, which is located on 3rd Street within easy walking distance from the parade route. Those who buy a ticket, available now for $5 at the Hannah Center until 1:30 p.m. on the day, do not have to be present to win.

“You will get a square with your number. You put it down in the driveway, then what they do is bring in a calf,” said Program Coordinator Tricia Fancher. “We bring the cow onto the driveway with all the stickers.”

The Liquid Coin Dairy calf will walk around the Hannah Center driveway and drop a “cow-pie” on a sticker. The owner of the sticker is the winner of the bingo game and will be awarded the $100 prize. The calf is also available to be pet.

Multiple tickets can be purchased to increase the odds of winning, and volunteers will select a spot for the purchaser if they are not able to attend. Food and beverages will be available.

“It’s been awesome,” said Fancher of participating in Dairyfest. “Our residents are part of this day, whether they’re in the parade or part of bingo. This is a FUN fundraiser where we can really engage in the community and have fun.”

Since most of the center’s fundraisers are off-site, it’s a good opportunity for the community to see the Hannah Center and tour the 150 year-old home.
