JD Boson Tennis Complex, Marshfield High School

N. Hume Ave.
The Boson Tennis Complex is located to the north of the Marshfield High School. A group of committed community volunteers headed by Ann and Kurt Boson spearheaded the fundraising for this project. The committee was called Marshfield Tennis NOW. It was dedicated to the facility to the school’s tennis enthusiasts and others who helped with the funding. All of the money for this project, $350,000, was raised through private donations.

The eight courts are USTA approved and are just like U.S. Open courts. They were dedicated in August of 2006. The high school tennis teams use this court as well as the Marshfield Tennis Association.

Braem Park

905 N. Cedar Avenue
Located near the children’s playground and baseball diamond, the four tennis courts at Braem Park are ready for action. These are older courts and not in as good of shape as other courts in the City, but perfectly adequate for a casual outing, with lines for pickleball. Bathrooms are nearby.

Steven J Miller Recreation Area

501 W. 4th Street
In an ideal central part of the city, this recreation area is home to four tennis courts in a partially fenced area with vegetation for added privacy. A playground and bathrooms are nearby. This area is bicycle friendly (tune up your bike at the city’s only repair station), part of the Wildwood-McMillan connector trail.

UW-Marshfield/Wood County

The UW courts are located down the road from the campus on the corner of Sycamore Ave. and W. 8th Street by the John Harrington Athletic Fields. Enjoy this fenced-in location with bleachers and clearly marked lines away from the crowd.

Marshfield Middle School

900 E 4th Street.
There are four well-kept, fenced-in courts located on the north side of the Marshfield Middle School that are open for general public use. Courts can be rented by contacting the Athletic Director at Marshfield High School. The swinging entrance is located at the center of the court. Shaded bench areas are perks of this location.
