ATV

For those not afraid to get a little  muddy, the Marshfield area offers miles of trails to help avid explorers cruise the wilderness.

The Wood County ATV Area is located on 400 acres of county forest land with 10 miles of ATV trail. The trail begins 3 miles west of Port Edwards, on STH 54. It is open year-round, except during gun deer season. A restroom facility and open shelter is available on site. New members are welcome. Wood County Parks & Forest Dept. : 715-886-4235

In Marathon County, there are two ATV/UTV areas. Visit the Burma Forest Trails or the Edgar to Fenwood Trail. The former featues 12 miles of trail in the Burma Road Unit of the Marathon County Forest Southwest of Wausau.  The latter is an abandoned railroad grade trail that is 5.5 miles long and connects Edgar to Fenwood. It is closed only during the deer hunting season, whenever posted, and after the first snow until it can be groomed by the local snowmobile club.
