Hefko Pool

1805 S. Roddis Ave.
Swim at Hefko Pool, conveniently located near Wildwood Zoo and ice cream (Hub City Ice Cream Company and Dairy Queen). Daily admission or seasonal passes available. Lounge on the deck, try a hand at the swimming lane, or dive off the diving board. More info on rates, hours, and pool rules can be found at the city website at this link. 

Other swimming pools are located inside the YMCA and Marshfield High School.

North Wood County Park

7500 Park Lane, Arpin
Enjoy a roped-off swimming area at North Wood County Park, near the playground and 225-foot suspension bridge. Explore the shoreline and multiple bridges. Canoe or kayak on the Yellow River.

Wenzel Family Plaza

201 S. Chestnut Ave.
Simply press the button to splash in the water jets at Wenzel Family Plaza in downtown Marshfield. On any sunny day, you’ll join other families in cooling off at the jets, which are programmed to change. Visit the Main Street Marshfield website or the plaza Facebook page to see what special programming is going on at the plaza.

FUTURE: Wildwood Zoo Welcome Center

Plans for a special Water Education exhibit to open early fall 2019 inside the developing Welcome Center are in the works. Kids will be able to get their hands wet while also learning about where the city’s water comes from. Learn more.

Wildwood Park

Fish at Upper Pond near the zoo. Choose a spot along the rocky shore or fish from the large pier near the observation tower.

Wildwood Zoo Upper Pond

Hamus Nature Preserve

201 Wilderness View Dr.
Enjoy fishing in the Windmill Pond in this 32-acre nature preserve full of walking trails, flowers, picnic tables, and shelter. A handicap-accessible fishing pier is available. Feed the fish for a nickel from the dispenser located on the pier.

North Wood County Park

7500 Park Lane, Arpin
Spot fish lounging by the shore of the Yellow River in this picturesque county park, a favorite for camping and other recreational activities.

Go Sightseeing

McMillan Marsh Wildlife Area

Even if it’s not for swimming, you can still appreciate the wetlands of the McMillan Marsh Wildlife Area north of Marshfield. Take the walking or biking trails past the larger bodies of water and grab a spot at the bench. Keep an eye out for wildlife.
