Christmas Market Opens Downtown November 25
Make a day of shopping local at the Main Street Marshfield Christmas Market beginning November 25 and continuing each Saturday through December 23 from 9-7 p.m.
Debuting on Small Business Saturday, there will be deals and promotions downtown, as well as a pop-up space in the former Homesteader’s Pantry location next door to Marshfield Mercantile with a free s’mores bar inside on Nov. 25. Mill Creek Gardens & ArtInvo + ConstructInvo will be selling gift items and providing rotating workshops in the space each weekend.
“It’s going to be a good way to know a few businesses that might not be on your radar and find gifts for friends and family,” said Kaelie Gomez, executive director of Main Street Marshfield. “We really want to celebrate our downtown businesses.”
Free totes, dog bandanas, and other items will be handed out. Take pictures of your shopping experience and hashtag #shopsmallmarshfield for a chance to win a $50 MACCI gift certificate.
Barb Mueller, who owned the My Oh My Boutique downtown, helped decorate the space, which was entered in Main Street’s window display competition. “We’re really happy to have her back downtown,” said Gomez.
Workshops include making a hand-tied wreath, barn wood painted tree, and paper white bulb planting. These have a cost and must be registered for to ensure availability of materials. The wreath workshop is sold out, but another may be added. Meanwhile, there are still upcoming workshops and more out at the Mill Creek Gardens greenhouse for those interested in hand-making holiday items.
In addition to their workshops, Mill Creek Gardens will have greenery, wreaths, as well as their flower cart outside. They will be selling mostly local, fair trade, and handmade gift items. These include a Wisconsin-shaped succulent planter and popular mugs featuring Wisconsin with a heart where Marshfield is located. There will also be soap from Milwaukee and stuffed animals dyed and sewn by families in Nepal.
