Marshfield Young Professionals to host 80’s Cardio Crawl

Inaugural Event Combines Exercise, Socialization

Put a spring in your step, grab a can of Aqua Net and join the Marshfield Young Professionals (MYP) at their 80’s Cardio Crawl. On Sunday, April 23rd from 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm, anyone up for a little exercise and socialization can attend.

Sponsored by Nutz Deep II, the crawl will start out at the popular pub and end there as well. This crawl is a first for MYP and they are excited to see how people respond to the 80’s theme.

“This is the first event of its kind! We have not previously held a similar event or even heard of one before!” said Jes Mannigel, President of MYP.

Mannigel said attendees are encouraged but not required to embrace the theme and rock out their best fashion statements. “The imagery of 80’s workout apparel is iconic – bright colors, leg warmers, sweatbands and spandex! It encourages participants to have a little fun while getting their sweat on.”

While there is no cost to attend, participants must register online (RSVP here.). The first 50 to register will get a free headband. (Also check out the MYP Facebook page for information.)

After some brief instructions at Nutz, the group will walk or run to Fitness Belle followed by Off the Mat Yoga and Total Body Fitness. Then it’s back to Nutz for some post exercise mingling and refreshments from a juice bar.

MYP asked that participants bring two pairs of shoes, one pair to use while outside and one inside at the work out facilities.

Mannigel said all are welcome to attend. “You do NOT have to be a YP member to participate (or be the “YP age range” to participate). Everyone is welcome. And so far our attendee list is a mix of members and non-members.”

The event is part of YP week, where individuals are encouraged to reach out and see what the city has to offer. It’s a networking opportunity as well as showing off certain aspects of Marshfield.

“This event is designed to promote healthy and active lifestyles, showcase local assets, connect people-to-people and with our community.  It’s an opportunity for people to try something new, discover local business and break down the myth that there is nothing to do in Marshfield. We hope participants work up a sweat, meet new people, and discover something they didn’t know about the community, while having a great time!” said Mannigel.
