Listed below are a few local events happening this holiday season around Marshfield.
Marshfield may be a relatively small town but when it comes to the holidays, we’ve got nothing but BIG events. Open your calendars now so you can mark down which events you don’t want to miss out on.
Rotary Winter Wonderland
November 26th-December 31st 2022 | 5-9 pm | Wildwood Zoo
This most astounding walking and drive-thru holiday light display feature over 1,000,000 lights with animated displays, holiday music, horse-drawn wagon rides, visits from Santa, and more! Admission is free but monetary and food donations are strongly encouraged to benefit local food pantries.
Small Business Saturday
Saturday, November 26th-December 31st, 2022 | 10 am – 2 pm | Downtown Marshfield
Small businesses dressed in their holiday best are ready for shoppers! Visit any of the businesses and pick up a Shop Small Passport and have participating businesses to stamp it for an entry in a variety of prize drawings.
Holiday Kids Fun in the Parks
Saturday, November 26th, 2022 | 10 am – 2 pm
Kids, pick up a Peppermint Parks Passport at any of the following parks and get them stamped at each. Once you’ve stamped all three, bring your completed passport to the Main Street Marshfield office between 10 am and 2 pm to receive a special treat.
- Hardacre Park | 10 am- 12 pm – The Snow Queen serves winter white hot chocolate.
- Strohman Park | 10 am – 12 pm – Nutz Deep ll serves cocoa with a firefighter photo op.
- Wenzel Family Plaza | 12-2 pm – St. Nick, Mrs. Claus, and live reindeer land for a visit.
Downtown Tree Lighting
Saturday, November 26th, 2022 | 5 pm | Wenzel Family Plaza
Enjoy the plaza tree lighting, kicking off the downtown window display competition, and city downtown lights for the holiday season. With bonfires, complimentary cocoa, and s’mores!
Santa & Mrs. Claus Visit Schalow’s
Saturday, November 26th, 2022 | 10 am – 1 pm | Schalow’s Nursery
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be stopping their sleigh at Schalow’s. The kiddos can tell Santa what they want for Christmas and you can take a beautiful picture for free.
Holiday Parade
Thursday, December 1st, 2022 | 6:30 pm | Downtown Marshfield
Gather up friends, family, and some cozy gear and head to South Central Avenue between 2nd Street and 9th Street for the Downtown Holiday Parade!
Holiday Wine Walk (ages 21+)
Saturday, December 3rd, 2022 | 11 am – 3 pm | Downtown Marshfield
Support our local businesses while you combine your holiday shopping with a fun wine-tasting trail through downtown Marshfield. Tickets are $35 and will include 20 wine samples and a commemorative 2022 Holiday Wine Walk glass.
Upham Mansion Open House
December 3rd & 4th, 2022 | 10 am – 3 pm | Upham Mansion
Join the North Wood County Historical Society at Upham Mansion for their themed exhibit, “A Dickens Christmas”. Folks are welcome to walk through the house to see festive holiday decorations and the exhibit while enjoying refreshments like cookies and punch. Learn more about the history of the families who took up residence at the mansion and who the NWCHS is.
Breakfast With Santa
Sunday, December 4th, 2022 | 8 – 11:30 am | Marshfield Eagles Club
Come hungry and grab breakfast with the whole family to benefit the Marshfield Area Special Olympics. After breakfast get pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Each child will receive a prize. There will also be a raffle and door prizes. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children (5-10 years), and free for children under 4 years.
Holiday Showcase Handmade Artisan Market
Sunday, December 4th, 2022 | 10 am – 3 pm | Chestnut Center for the Arts
Chestnut Center for the Arts will host local artists and crafters during an intimate and specialized holiday shopping experience. There will also be live holiday music, an art raffle, hot chocolate and coffee bar, and free cookies in addition to the festive shopping environment throughout the building. Admission is free but donations are greatly appreciated.
Gingerbread Houses (Ages 4-13)
Saturday, December 10th, 2022 | 9:30 – 10:30 am | Discovery Education Station
Build and decorate your very own Gingerbread House. These houses will be so pretty it’ll almost be a shame to eat them…almost! Admission is $10.00, preregistration may be required.
Christmas Crystals (Ages 4-13)
Saturday, December 10th, 2022 | 12 pm | Discovery Education Station
Learn about the science behind the crystalline beauty that comes with the holiday season. Admission is $10.00, preregistration may be required.
3D Printing Holiday Cookies (Ages 7-13)
Saturday, December 10th, 2022 | 4 – 6:30 pm | Discovery Education Station
3D printing is almost everywhere…manufacturing, design, and now baking! See for yourself how sweet science can be! Admission is $30.00, preregistration may be required.
Ladies’ Holiday Night Out
Saturday, December 10th, 2022 | 5 – 7:30 pm | Schalow’s Nursery
Guests can enjoy samples of wine, dips, bread, seasoned crackers, and pretzels. The first 100 ladies in the door will receive a coupon for a discounted amount, a door prize, or $25 to spend that night. We also have a gift for the first 100 purchasers! Come join the fun and relax with all the ladies.
Fireside Chat: Holiday Reflections

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the season! Come and share some of your fond holiday memories and traditions as you relax by the cozy fire in our beautiful Fireside Room on the 2nd floor of the Marshfield Public Library.
Christmas Diamond Art (Ages 18+)
Friday, December 16th, 2022 | 6 – 8 pm | Discovery Education Station
Warm up with some hot cocoa and create diamond art. Diamond art is a combination of cross-stitch and paint-by-numbers using beautiful little rhinestones to create your own vivid, shimmering masterpiece. Admission is $20.00, preregistration may be required.
Holiday Painting Class (Ages 7-13)
