Christmas Tree Locations in Central WI

Where to Get Your Christmas Tree in Central Wisconsin

There are always a few diehard Christmas-lovers who put their trees up the day after Thanksgiving on “black Friday,” but the rest of us tend to wait a few weeks until December gets rolling before we get fully into the Christmas spirit. And with Christmas only three weeks away, if you haven’t already put up your tree now’s the time, and there are several great options for finding the right tree in Marshfield and the surrounding area.

Most conveniently is the seasonal Christmas tree lot at Festival Foods on Central Avenue in Marshfield. The vendor has a good selection of fresh-cut small trees, starting at $16, as well as a selection of larger trees, including Douglas fir, scotch pine, balsam fir and the long-needled white pine. Prices range from about $20 to $70, with trees individually priced. Also available are custom-ordered and ready-made wreaths, boughs, gently-used tree stands, as well as a limited selection of holiday candles and maple syrup.

For those who are not content with pre-cut varieties, there are several opportunities to venture out into the country and cut your own. Vine’s Christmas Trees in Granton (about 25 minutes outside of Marshfield) boasts more than 40,000 trees including fraiser firs, balsams and canaans. There’s no need to bring your own saw, because they’re provided by the farm, which also offers complimentary bundling and packaging (weekends only). Also on the weekends, Vine’s offers family-friendly wagon rides and selections of snacks and hot beverages. For typical six-foot trees, prices generally start at $25, and the largest pre-cut trees (up to 12 feet) are $75.

Set on 80 acres and with more than 30 years in the Christmas tree business, Pheasant Pines in Mosinee (about 30 minutes from Marshfield) is also a great option for the cut-your-own experience. They are open on weekends only from 9am until dusk, and also provide saws and tree bundling. Pheasant Pines also prides itself on using sustainable earth-friendly farming techniques, as well as contributing to various local and national charities. This year, their Christmas tree sales will benefit Evergreen Community Initiatives (ECI) of Stevens Point.

Wherever your Christmas tree hunting takes you, we wish you happy hunting, and a very Merry Christmas!
