Zoofest
Sometimes I forget all that Marshfield has to offer and think I need to leave Marshfield to find fun activities for me and my family.
I take for granted the awesome places we have in Marshfield that many communities our size just don’t have. We have a university, small airport, awesome parks and even our own zoo.
As a mom of young kids, I am especially appreciating the zoo lately. Going to Wildwood Zoo, 608 W. 17th St, is just such a great chance to combine both a fun activity and learning.
I love driving around the large animal pens and talking about what the animals are doing and answering the myriad of questions my children ask about everything.
Now that my kids are a little older at 3 and almost 5, I am really excited to attend Zoofest this weekend.
It is really affordable at only $5 per family for the event which runs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the zoo. Not only can families enjoy the regular attractions at the zoo including the new wolves and bear exhibit, Zoofest also offers hay rides, a petting zoo, bounce houses, clowns, face painting, games and more.
When: Saturday, June 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Wildwood Zoo, 608 W. 17th St.
Cost: $5
If you can’t make Zoofest this weekend, the Zoo is also running a program this summer called Wild Wednesdays, which are programs that take place at the Zoo on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The programs are FREE and usually take about 45 minutes. The next one on June 22 features the Minnesota Zoomobile. For more information, check out the Wildwood Park & Zoo Facebook page.
