On Sunday, August 18, 2019, the National Institutes of Health’s All of Us Journey, a mobile research exhibit traveling the country to promote the All of Us Research Program, will be at the All of Us Summer Celebration at the Marshfield YMCA from 12 – 4 p.m.
This event is sponsored by Marshfield Clinic Research Institute, Marshfield Clinic Health System YMCA, Marshfield Children’s Hospital, and the Family Health Center of Marshfield.
“The work being done by the All of Us Research Program will help advance our own goals at the Center for Precision Medicine Research, and we’re very excited to see what breakthroughs can be reached with the help of the data from All of Us,” said Murray Brilliant, Interim Director of the Center for Precision Medicine Research at the Marshfield Clinic Research Institute. “Sunday’s Summer Celebration at the Marshfield YMCA will be a great opportunity for local residents to come out and have some fun, and also learn about why this program is so important for all of us.”
The All of Us Journey is an interactive mobile unit that has toured more than 100 cities in 35 states for almost two years. It helps to spread the word about the All of Us Research Program, a historic effort to gather health data from one million or more people living in the United States to accelerate biomedical research.
The Journey’s goal is to encourage participation in All of Us, and to educate the community on the many benefits of precision medicine. Since the launch of the program nationwide in May 2018, more than 225,000 people have enrolled.
By enrolling one million or more participants, All of Us will have the scale and scope to enable a wide variety of research. This research program will help facilitate medical studies that could lead to new medical breakthroughs – improving health care for all of us, not just some of us.
