This weekend offers a few opportunities to get outside and enjoy the Wisconsin winter.
Powers Bluff will be open for tubing and skiing on Saturday and Sunday, 10-4 p.m. Tubing for one session from 10-1 p.m. and 1-4 p.m. is $10 per person. An all-day pass is $15. Ski and snowboard from 10-4 p.m. for $10 per person.
Go cross country skiing or snow shoeing at Nepko Lake County Park, Powers Bluff, Richfield 360 and Marshfield School Forest. The daily trail fee is $5.
The Marshfield Ski Touring Foundation posts updates on the Marshfield School Forest trails to its Facebook page. Trails are open for skiing, biking, and snowshoeing.
Additional snowshoeing locations right in Marshfield can be found at places such as Weber Park, Hamus Nature Preserve, McMillan Marsh, and the UW arboretum.
Pickle Pond is currently closed for outdoor ice skating, but enjoy Open Skate indoors from 7-8:30 p.m. on Jan. 4 at the Marshfield Area Ice Arena (405 E. 17th Street). Cost is $3 for adults, $2 for youth ages 4-17. Non-city residents pay an additional 50 cents.
