School is about to let out which means the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library’s annual Summer Reading Program is about to begin. This year’s theme is A Universe of Stories. The Summer Library Program will begin on Monday, June 10th and will continue through Saturday, August 17th. All the programs are family friendly and absolutely FREE!
SUMMER READING CHALLENGE
Registration begins Monday, June 10
This 8-week reading incentive program requires each child that registers to complete a certain number of reading challenges based on their age/grade level. The 8-weeks of the challenge is divided into 4 two-week sections. When a child completes their section they will get a prize. If a child completes all 4 sections, they will earn a free book. Also, when a child completes a section they will receive a raffle ticket to enter into one of the several prize drawings.
STORY TIME!! No registration is required…come when you can!
Every Monday in June (except June 10th), 10-10:30 am: Story time for all ages.
Friday June 21st and June 28th, 10-10:30 am: Toddler story time.
TUESDAY NIGHT = FAMILY NIGHT AT THE LIBRARY!!
Tuesday, June 11th, 6 pm – 7 pm: Sidewalk Chalk (Space theme) meet in the JP Adler Family Room, and then head outside so families can use the library sidewalk as their interstellar canvas.
Tuesday, June 18th, 6 pm – 7 pm: Traveling Lantern Theatre Company presents My Mother Was an Astronaut in the JP Adler Family Room! This show is interactive and children will become the solar system, learn about rockets, propulsion, and g-forces, conduct experiments, and find out what it’s like to live in space.
Tuesday, June 25th, 6 pm – 6:45 pm: It’s LEGO Night in the JP Adler Family Room! Come and create with LEGOs. The rule of the game is to use your imagination. The library will provide the LEGOs. Leave yours at home. This is a family event.

Tom Pease
Saturday, June 15th – 11 am @ 2nd Street Community Center
Singer Tom Pease has an infectious sense of fun! With movement, sign language, humor, and joy, he can make the audience laugh as he connects with every crowd. Everyone will sing along and enjoy his ticklish talent.
Nature’s Niche
Wednesday, June 19th – 3 pm in the J.P. Adler Room
This is an environmental education and exotic animal program. Live animals such as creepy crawly arthropods, amphibians, birds, mammals, lizards, turtles and snakes found in the rainforest are part of this program.
Making Rockets with Jim Lenz
Wednesday, June 26th – 10 am in the J.P. Adler Room
Participants will make their own rocket and the rockets will be launched. The children will be able to take their rockets home as a memorable souvenir.
Tail Waggin’ Tutors
Wednesday, June 12th, June 19th, and June 26th from 1-2 pm
Kids can register to read to one of our lovable library dogs for 10 minutes. This is also one of the Summer Reading Challenges a child can do.
