Jack Frost has started nipping at our noses. Stockings are being hung by the chimney with care as soon St. Nicholas will be here. Literally, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus are coming to the library this month! In December, great things are happening in the Youth Services Department at the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library.
STORY TIME!! No registration is required…come when you can!
Every Monday in December (except Dec. 23rd & 30th), 10-10:30 am: Story time for all ages.
Every Friday in December (except Dec. 27th), 10-10:30 am: Toddler Story time.
Saturday Story Time – December 14th, 2:30-3:00 pm: Story time for all ages.
TUESDAY NIGHT = FAMILY NIGHT AT THE LIBRARY!
Tuesday, December 3rd, 6 pm – 7 pm: It’s LEGO Night in the JP Adler Family Room. Come and create with LEGOs. The rule of the game is to use your imagination. The library will provide the LEGOs. Leave yours at home. This is a family event.
Tuesday, December 10th, 6 pm – 7 pm: Code Busters in the JP Adler Family Room. Learn about programming with this fun and creative coding program. Open to all abilities and interest levels.
Tuesday, December 17th, 6 pm – 7 pm: Grinch Party in the JP Adler Family Room. There will be a Grinchy craft to make and some interactive fun while watching the original animated classic “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”
SANTA COMES TO THE LIBRARY
Saturday, December 7th from 9:30 to 11:30 am in the JP Adler Family Room. Mr. Murray will be reading a new Santa story and then children of all ages can visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Please bring your camera, if you want your picture with Santa.
MOM NEEDS A DINOSAUR – AUTHOR VISIT
Saturday, December 14th from 2:30-3:30 pm in the Youth Services Dept. Play Area. After Mr. Murray’s Dinosaur Story Time at 2:00 pm come visit with Wisconsin authors Kent and Leah Barnard and learn how to draw your own dinosaur. The Barnard’s will also sign copies of their picture book “Mom Needs a Dinosaur.” Books can be purchased at the signing for $17 apiece.
BINGO and a MOVIE
Thursday, December 26th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in the JP Adler Family Room. An interactive bingo game with the movie “Elf” will occur. Each person’s BUDDY (Bingo) card will have scenes from the movie, and if a person gets 5 scenes in a row they can yell out BUDDY for all the world to hear and will earn a prize.
NOON DAY’S EVE PARTY
Tuesday, December 31st from 10:30-12:30 pm in the JP Adler Family Room and Youth Services Dept. Families are in invited to our 2nd Annual Noon Day’s Eve Party. There will be food, games, and a balloon drop at 12 Noon. Perfect for families that want to celebrate New Year’s Eve but can’t stay up until midnight.
