What to Do Right After the Dairyfest Parade

There’s no need to rush home right after the Dairyfest Parade (11am) – Check out these great activities and choose the one that works for you and your family. If you’d like to skip the traffic and don’t mind a few blocks, all are in walking distance of the parade route! More events carry on in the afternoon and evening. Pie, Ice Cream, and Grill-Out at Upham Mansion
10-3 p.m.

On the shady lawn of the beautiful Victorian mansion, find a variety of homemade pies with ice cream. New this year: You can get your lunch as well as your dessert with hot dogs, brats, chips, and a lemonade stand. There’s a children’s carnival, raffle, art corner by Chestnut Center for the arts, as well as free home tours beginning at noon accompanied by a stroll through the Heritage Rose Garden. Enjoy a slice of pie while listening to live music from the historic porch.

Browse through home vendors set up at the Junior Fair Building and grab lunch at one of the food booths, including deep fried cheese curds and all the favorites, and also a glass of free milk from Nasonville Dairy and Weber’s Farm Store. Kids will enjoy inflatables, face painting, a petting zoo at the World’s Largest Round Barn (12-5), local illusionist Kevin Boyle (1 p.m.), Main Street Conservatory of Dance (2:15 p.m.) and Reis Martial Arts Academy Demonstrations (3:15 p.m.)

5th Annual Cow-Pie Bingo,
12:00-2:00pm

The Hannah Center, 212 East 3rd Street

Purchase a square sticker for $5 by 1:30 p.m. to participate in Cow Pie Bingo at The Hannah Center! Proceeds help the Hannah Center mission to assist women in crisis. There’s a chance to win $100 if the calf chooses your square! Food and beverages available. Learn more about the center by taking a tour in the 150 year old home.

Lion’s Fishing Contest
8:00am-4:00pm
Wildwood Park Upper Pond

Grab your tackle box and a dollar to register for the fishing contest, open for kids 12 and under. Every child will receive a prize donated by local businesses with a chance for the grand prize. Some reels available, but bring your own equipment just in case. Bait supplied. $1 registration fee. Afterwards, you can swing around the Wildwood Zoo or walk to the playground.

Doors open at 11:30am with beer garden available. Everyone is invited to play the sport that is fun for everyone! $1,000 in cash and prizes to be awarded.
