Volunteers Needed for United Way Downtown Cleanup

Main Street Marshfield and United Way’s annual Earth Day cleanup is coming a little late this year, but volunteers are needed to help spruce up downtown on Thursday, June 21 from 2-4 p.m. by gathering the litter revealed by the melting snow. Normally on Earth Day, the cleanup was delayed since the ground was still snow-covered.

“Every year it’s nice to tidy up the downtown before most of our major events,” said Executive Director Kaelie Gomez, Main Street Marshfield. “We look forward to partnering with the United Way.”

Volunteers will assemble at Hardacre Park at 2 p.m to get a map with their routes and supplies like trash pickers and gloves. Water and snacks are provided, and free, high-visibility Live United shirts are given out. Litter will be picked up from Central Ave. and alleyways.

Anyone interested can sign up through Volunteer Marshfield at this link. Families, groups, couples – everyone is encouraged to participate.
