COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
CREATIVITY AND LEARNING
Fairy Gardens Demo
Ever wonder where the fairies live? Eileen will demonstrate how to create a special fairy/miniature garden including paths, water features, fairy houses/cottages, bridges, swings, tables, chairs, rocks and more! Learn how to plant ‘trees’ and ‘bushes’ using proper sized plants. Care for your garden will also be discussed.
Intro to Spanish
Learn pronunciation and vocabulary including how to introduce yourself, ask directions, order from a menu, buy things, and other basic skills. We will practice asking questions, using expressions, and communicating confidently in everyday situations. Prepare for adventures abroad, get ahead at work, or communicate with friends/loved ones. Join Christel, and have fun learning a second language in 6 short weeks!
Leaf Casting
Here’s a great use for those big rhubarb, hosta, squash or pumpkin leaves! Learn how to cast them into a candy dish, bird feeder, birdbath or other garden/home décor. June will help students design, construct and paint these creations. SUPPLIES REQUIRED: 2 ice cream pails of ‘play’ sand – or enough to support the leaf -remember the larger the leaf the more sand needed – available at Menard’s or Fleet Farm for appx. $3 – $5; 1 medium leaf (14” or less) of your choice (hosta, rhubarb, squash, pumpkin, burdock); 1 large garbage bag; 1 scissors or knife; Rubber gloves.
Medicinal Herbs
Have you ever wondered what Native Americans and the early settlers used for their medicinal needs? Join Eileen for an informative presentation to learn about common herbs, that also have great medicinal properties, and how you can grow and use them yourself.
Painting Workshop
This workshop is sure to bring out the artist in you! Follow along as Wendy paints a scene, step by step, providing ample assistance along the way. Everyone will go home with a masterpiece ready to hang on the wall. No prior painting experience necessary. All supplies are provided. Just come and enjoy this painting party!

Aqua Zumba®
Just add water and shake! In this class, Riya blends the Zumba® philosophy with water resistance for one pool party you shouldn’t miss! Water creates natural resistance, which means every step is more challenging and helps tone your muscles. There is less impact on your joints during an Aqua Zumba® class. Dance styles include Cumbia, Raggaeton, Merengue & Salsa. Make a splash with this low-impact, high-energy aquatic exercise. Mix-Fit
Join Aimee for this energizing class, and be ready for a different format each evening. It offers a mix of elements/ fitness routines from every genre including cardio/aerobics, body sculpting, intervals, circuits, hi-lo, Tabata, strength training, bootcamp and Pilates. Modifications will be offered for a wide range of fitness levels. SUPPLIES REQUIRED: Exercise mat; Hand weights (your choice of weight); water. NOTE: No class 8/3, 8/10
Short Circuit
Short Circuit combines conditioning and toning to improve endurance, cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength. Christine will include high-intensity work periods with short rest periods in an alternating set or circuit format that is easy to follow. Work at your own level of fitness. Short Circuit builds muscle and gives the sought after benefits of resistance training, and fat-melting interval training. SUPPLIES REQUIRED: Yoga Mat; Hand weights (your choice of weight); Water NOTE: No class 7/3
Zumba®
This class fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away! Zumba® Fanatics achieve long term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exhilarating hour of caloric-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms are combined with resistance training to tone and sculpt the body while burning fat. YOGA
Mindful Yoga
Join Chris Tipping, Yoga Alliance teacher, for a relaxing and energizing yoga practice. The class is appropriate for true beginners, experienced students, or for people with minor injuries or physical limitations. The overall pace is slow and steady, with gentle warm-ups, attention to the details of each posture and a focus on connecting to the inner body experience of yoga. Develop a calmer mind, relaxed body and reap the secondary benefits of improved strength, flexibility, balance and posture. SUPPLIES REQUIRED:Yoga mat; cotton or wool blanket.
Power Vinyasa Flow Yoga
This is a fast paced, flow based, powerful, energetic and athletic form of yoga. Students fluidly move from one pose to the next while connecting their breathing to their movements. Power Yogis move quickly between poses and often focus on building strength. This class enhances strength, flexibility, balance, cardio, physical and mental stamina. Restorative Yoga
Join Joanna for a class that is relaxing, calming and full of gentle stretching. Gain better balance, increase flexibility and range of motion, and strengthen the core for everyday activity. This class begins with gentle and slow yoga poses designed to open the body and release tension, moving into restorative postures to deepen the experience, and ending with deep relaxation and meditation. SUPPLIES REQUIRED: Yoga mat; Optional: Yoga block; Yoga strap; Cotton or wool blanket.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga
“Vinyasa” means “breath-synchronized movement” or moving from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. This class offers basic yoga postures in a flowing sequence leading into balance poses and relaxing stretches. Vinyasa has both mental and physical benefits. Physically, the flowing portion expels toxins and re-energizes the body. Mentally, the synchronized breathing relaxes the mind and helps to release any blockage of energy flow throughout the body. If you like to focus on the power of breathing and flowing movement through poses, you will enjoy Vinyasa. Prior Yoga experience helpful.
