A tradition that’s run for more than forty years, volleyball at Bakerville is returning for another season. Sign up by Saturday, May 26 by stopping by the bar or giving owner Fuzz Martin a call at 715-305-2404. Those who want to be assigned a team can call the number with any questions.
Anywhere from sixty to seventy-five teams compete Tuesday and Thursday for co-ed or Wednesdays for women’s league. Those under 18 need a parental sign off and entry fee is $125 for a team.
“We bracket, so the first four or five weeks everyone plays each other,” explained Martin. Depending on performance, teams are split into A and B brackets, with A being the more competitive one. That way, there are good games and competition, he added.
Bakerville Bar & Grill is located at 10631 County Road B and is the only bar in the area that has indoor volleyball for the cooler weather months. If you can’t make the summer league, keep fall and winter leagues in mind.
