Main Street Marshfield to Host Reindeer Day
Santa sure is busy this time of year. There are so many places in the area that you can choose to visit old St. Nick. But next weekend you have the chance to visit not only Santa, but his lovely wife and a couple of his very own reindeer!
Once again, Main Street Marshfield is hosting their Reindeer Day where kiddos and their parents can stop down and visit Santa and his reindeer, take a picture, and have a few yummy treats.
Main Street Executive Director Angie Eloranta is looking forward to the festive event.
“My favorite part about the event is all the kiddos getting to see real reindeer! Christmas is such a magical time of the year and I feel like being able to see the Reindeer makes the Santa experience even more real,” she said.
Santa and his reindeer will be gathered behind the MACCI building in the Holiday Inn parking lot from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to welcome families who want to stop down and meet the jolly guy and his helpers. There will also be toasty hot chocolate and tasty cookies provided.
This fun event is free to the public. However, if people would like to make a donation, it will go to a worthy cause.
“Volunteers from the Frederic Ozanam Transitional Shelter will be serving the hot chocolate and cookies. This is a FREE event, however, we ask that people consider making a donation or bring a toiletry item to donate to the shelter,” Eloranta said.
Eloranta said the event will be great for kids, but that’s not all.
“People should stop out because the kids will LOVE it. Not only do they get to see Santa, they get to meet Mrs. Claus and a couple of their Reindeer. An added bonus, they can get all their Christmas presents wrapped by the Marshfield Young Professional group at the same time for FREE,” she said.
The wrapping will also go to a good cause.
“Bring your unwrapped presents and let MYP take care of the rest. Donations are welcomed. Proceeds from all donations given will go to support ODC, Inc., whose mission is to ‘empower people with disabilities to achieve their work and life goals,’” she said.
