Those who stop by will have the chance to pick the perfect pumpkin – out of 5,200, to be exact – at the Festival Foods annual Pumpkin Blowout on October 6.
The family-friendly event offers the season’s lowest prices along with other fall items and delicious treats. Activities include a basketball game and football toss, large inflatable bounce house, a small petting zoo area from 8-3 p.m. Music and freshly popped kettle corn are provided by Razor J.
“At Festival, we pride ourselves on community involvement, and the blowout is a chance for our produce and store team to put on a bit of a show and have some fun with our neighbors,” said Clay Carter, Produce Manager.
As the peak season for fresh, locally produced apple cider, samples of hot cider will be offered and available for purchase, along with caramel apples. Have a deconstructed caramel apple made to order by the bakery team and try other fall-themed treats, like pumpkin doughnuts.
Fulfill home decorating needs for the season by browsing mini-pumpkins and gourds, white pumpkins, Cinderella pumpkins, painted pumpkins, pie pumpkins, straw bales, corn stalks, and decorative corn varieties.
The event runs from from 8-5 p.m. in the parking lot, but sale prices last all day. Purchases can be made right in the lot. “If you’d prefer to avoid the crowds and music outside, we will also have displays under our canopy by the store entrance and inside the store at the front of the produce department,” Carter said.
