Open Swim, Youth Sports, and More Offered by Parks and Rec

The Marshfield Parks & Recreation Department is offering the following programs:

Youth tennis lessons for ages 4 and up beginning the week of September 24th on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Classes will be held for five weeks at the indoor tennis court in the former City Hall Plaza. The cost is $40.00 for city residents and $60.00 for non-residents.

Little Tyke Soccer for ages 3 to 5 will be held Saturdays, September 7th – 28th at Griese Park, Figi Field. Little Strikers (3-year-olds) will run 9:00 – 9:30 a.m.; Midfield Mayhem (4 & 5-year-olds) will run 9:45 – 10:30 p.m. The cost is $20.00 for city residents and $30.00 for non-residents.

Youth gymnastics classes will begin Monday, November 4th for ages 3 ½ and up. Classes will be held for five weeks at the Marshfield Senior High Fieldhouse gymnastics area. The cost is $25.00 for city residents and $37.50 for non-residents.

Boys & Girls Basketball for 4th – 6th grade begins Saturday, October 12th from 8:30 – 9:45 a.m. at the Marshfield Middle School. Classes will be held for 5 weeks. Students will participate in skills and drills, placing emphasis on dribbling, passing, defense and shooting, along with basketball games to put the skills together. The cost is $25.00.

Kiwanis Basketball League is bringing back its Youth Basketball Program. Teams will range from 8-12 players, both boys and girls leagues. Held on Saturdays, December 7, 8, 15 and January 4, 11, 18, 25 at the Marshfield Middle School Gyms. Game times will be 8, 9 10 or 11 a.m. The cost is $20.00 ($5.00 late fee after 9/13). Open Gym & Swim at Marshfield Sr. High will be held on Mondays & Wednesdays, begin Monday, September 16th. The pool will be open from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. and the gym from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. There is no fee for youth up to age 17. The fee for adults (18 & up) is $2.50 for residents & $3.75 for non-residents. Advanced discount tickets can be purchased in the Parks & Recreation office. Please note, children ages 9 & under need adult supervision to use the facilities.

Early Bird Lap Swim is currently being held at Marshfield Senior High Pool on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6:00 – 7:30 a.m. through December 12th. Lap swim will not be held on November 28th. Admission is $1.25 for city residents and $1.75 for non-residents, or purchase advanced discount tickets in the Parks & Recreation office. Tickets are sold in packs of 10.

One-Day Art Classes for ages 4 & 5 w/ parent and also grades 1 to 6. Resident’s fee is $10.00 and Non-Residents fee is $15.00. Classes will take place at the 2nd Street Community Center Arts and Craft room.

Pumpkin Carving – October 26th: Come carve your pumpkin and leave the clean-up to us. We will provide pumpkin and tools needed.

Ornament Making –November 16th: This class will allow you to work with moldable, colorful, oven-baking clay. You will create ornaments or anything your imagination will allow. Complete art work will be sent home with baking instructions.

Gingerbread Decoration – December 14th: We will be decorating gingerbread treats.
