Excited for another season of deer hunting? Learn more about the history of the sport and its importance to the state of Wisconsin as presented by Robert Willging, author of On the Hunt.
The free event will take place at the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library at 7 p.m. on Monday, November 5. On the Hunt will take you all the way back to the spear hunts of the Paleo Indians to the blaze orange-clad sportsmen of today.
A prolific outdoors writer, Willging drew on many sources to cover the sport of deer hunting, changing policies regarding deer management, and deer habitat. It also highlights the importance of the whitetail to the state’s development as a source of food and skins, and the sport’s contribution to the Wisconsin economy.
The event is part of the Spoken History lecture series. Learn more about this series at this link.
