Next Spoken History Talk to Discuss Local Homesteaders

The next Spoken History talk will be held Monday, October 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the library in the Felker Family Genealogy and Local History Room.

Historian Don Schnitzler will discuss homesteaders in Clark, Marathon and Wood County using records under the Homestead Act of 1862, which are held at the Bureau of Land Management and the National Archives.

Spoken History is an ongoing monthly lecture series organized by local history groups to highlight the area’s rich history.
