More Wood County Snowmobile Trails Open

Update: Kellner Knights, Sunset Drifters, and Yellow River Riders trails will open Friday, Jan. 24 at 8 a.m.

The Wood County Parks & Forestry Department has announced the opening of more snowmobile trails in the county.

The Rudolph River Rovers and Vesper Snow Drifters will open Wed. January 22, 2020 at 3 p.m. However, the Vesper trail to Blenker is closed due to open water. Closure signs will be posted at the intersections.

Additionally, the Bakerville Sno Rovers trails opened January 18 and are in excellent condition. The Auburndale Nite Owls opened their trails on January 20.

The Kellner Knights, Sunset Drifters, and Yellow River Riders remain closed. The Sunset Drifters trails will open once permission is received from one landowner.

Riders may encounter trail re-routes, rough and icy patches, and thin portions of the trails in the fields. If a trail is not in great condition, do not detour outside the trail markings as this is trespassing and may jeopardize use of the trail for all riders.

Updates on closures or openings can be found at the Wood County Parks & Forestry Facebook page, calling 715-421-8422, or emailing [email protected]. Trails are subject to periodic and unexpected closures.
